Villari and Primetals Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership to advance data-driven asset integrity and maintenance strategies for the steel and aluminum industry. As part of the collaboration, Primetals Technologies will embed continuous fatigue and crack monitoring directly into the engineering, inspection, and maintenance workflows of its customers.

The partnership combines Villari’s certified wireless fatigue crack-detection technology with Primetals Technologies’ engineering, condition monitoring, and maintenance services to:
Increase uptime and responsibly extend asset lifetime through continuous fatigue and crack monitoring, reducing reliance on over-inspection
Integrate real-time structural insight into maintenance, repair, and integrity strategies, enabling safer operation of aging steel assets and protecting revenue margins
Leverage Primetals Technologies’ deep metallurgical plant expertise alongside Villari’s unique sensor technology
Scale deployment globally via Primetals Technologies’ international customer base in the steel and aluminum industry
“'Primetals Technologies’ deep engineering expertise and strong familiarity with condition monitoring in metallurgical environments make them a highly strategic partner for Villari,” says Olivier Baas, CEO at Villari. “Together, we can embed continuous fatigue monitoring into how steel producers manage asset health, risk, and long-term performance of critical equipment.”
From Primetals Technologies’ perspective, continuous monitoring plays a key role in strengthening and scaling asset management offerings:
"We see this technology as an integral part of scalable asset management,” says Klaus Frauenhuber, Vice President – Services at Primetals Technologies. “By leveraging Villari’s continuous monitoring technology, we can provide our clients with a true 360-degree, 24/7 view of their assets. In a highly competitive market, this level of insight is essential to maximize uptime, reduce unplanned interventions, and protect margins.”
As part of the partnership, Villari and Primetals Technologies will engage in extensive knowledge sharing and joint use-case development, further strengthening steel-specific monitoring applications and expanding the capabilities of the Villari system in high-load metallurgical environments.
